London’s Kerning

Taking inspiration from NB: Studio’s London’s Kerning project we created our own London streetmap-without-the-streets in Jo’s workshop last week. I’ve taken the opposite approach for my poster for this chapter of the book – removing the street names, instead picking-out the Hackney Gazette headline “Judge Sticks Knife In Hackney” from the haphazard grid of the borough’s streets. Tracing the streets like this is an interesting way to get to know your neighbourhood… the lighbox hunch, the pen-grip claw…
