Chromeography

April 29, 2010

Brought to you by the good people of Typographica, Chromeography is a compendium of chrome lettering from the badges of automobiles, cameras, and household appliances of the 50s and 60s. Page after page of user-submitted photos celebrate “those unsung metal emblems and badges that are overlooked, forgotten, damaged, lost to time or the dump.” While some examples retain the gleam of the showroom, others are rust-fringed, clearly on the wrong side of the scrapyard fence.
