Newspaper Club vs. Rupert Murdoch

March 11, 2010

Heroically wrestling the tabloid format from Rupert Murdoch’s slimy hands (and recent winner of the Graphics category at the Designs Of The Year Awards) is The Newspaper Club, a service which converts downtime on newspaper presses into a service which anyone can use to produce their own short-run paper. The idea comes from Ben Terrett, of a London-based studio the Really Interesting Group, or RIG. You can see more examples of what club members have produced on the blog, and Ben’s Noisy Decent Graphics blog features a detailed post on RIG’s original newspaper, from which the whole enterprise was spawned. Long live print, eh?
