Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far

March 4, 2010

Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far is a project created by Stefan Sagmeister during his “experimental” year away from the industry in 2000.  The project involves various typographic treatments of words and phrases; pearls of personal and professional wisdom acquired by Stefan over the years, such as:

Money does not make me happy
Helping other people helps me
Everybody who is honest is interesting
Worrying solves nothing

Originally produced as a book, or as 14 mini-books inside a cardboard slipcase, the project has also spawned an Exhibition (at Deitch Projects in New York – check out that wacky website) and more recently a website, to which members of the public can contribute their own nuggets of wisdom and home-made images. Okay, the philosophising can sometimes be a bit icky, but the whole thing shows consistent invention and brims with positivity.
