Next Project : SEA-side Branding

The next project will be taught by Bryan Edmondson of SEA, an award-winning brand design consultancy, whose clients include Grafik Magazine, D&AD, Greenpeace, and EMI. There’s already a rumour doing the rounds that Bryan is a hard man to please, and that a thick skin will be a handy thing to possess for the duration of the project. On first glance their work appears very serious, very crisp, very professional, very sans-serif. But look at their environmental scheme for Bluewater’s Fastrack terminals, which uses text from overheard conversations between shoppers at the centre, and it’s clear there’s humour there too. And their identity for art silkscreen printers K2 reveals an unexpected hands-on materiality. So I’ll keep an open mind, hopefully some of that professionalism will rub-off.
