Your Studio

January 4, 2010

In promotion of their new book, Studio Culture*, United Editions (the new publishers set up by Spin and Adrian Shaughnessy) are currently featuring a collection of photographs of designers’ studios, as submitted by the studios themselves, on their blog. While the exercise does nothing to refute the reputation graphic designers’ have for egocentricity, it’s interesting to have a peek into someone else’s working space. Some illicit the wow-i-want-to-work-there! response, some appear to have been designed solely for client hospitality, some art messy, some have pets, some are absurdly minimal, some are hilariously Scandinavian-looking, some are very obviously a bed room with a bit of sheet nailed-up, and some pose important questions, like who is this douchebag posing with his acoustic guitar?
